| Working immediately No sooner could UPS dropped my Dewalt compressor. It was deployed (Nice) on the back forty-implement the construction of the barn. He worked non-stop for 4 days to frame a two-storey building. The tank is easy to drain air and water at the end of the day. He never blew up the temporary cap 15 amps which supplied power to the building. He has enough power to the house to run two framing nailers at the same time. Great compressorI am very happy with my DeWalt air compressor. It is very heavy, it has a good size air tank and the engine is great.
Follow the instructions for the "break-in period" which is essentially run for 15 minutes with the tank open and it was a lot of work since.

Died after two monthsI bought the DeWalt D55146 large orange 2 months ago. He died today after only two months of daily use. The last two or three days, it sounds like it was working and it was much more to put the reservoir pressure. Now he is not watching. No idea what is wrong, and do not intend to mess with it. I take back for a refund or replacement possible under big orange 90-day return policy.
The other posters comment on the drain is on the right position. It is a pain in the rear of the bleeding and get the low humidity. I added a 8 "to the extension of the drain side of the valve at the end. Makes a lot easier to achieve. But having the proposal it at an angle of 45 degrees for Water is a major design flaw.

disappointedI bought my DeWALT D55146 on 4.25.2007 and have a recurring problem. I have had for 3 months when she started to leak around the air valve on the pressure. I took it to an authorized repair shop. It was repaired under warranty, but the game was on the back, and he remained in the store for more than 4 month. The same problem has occurred again and, of course, it is now out of warranty. I took it to the shop and I am told the repair kit is back ordered until September.
I am very disappointed with this compressor and parts availability! He spent almost as much time in the shop waiting for parts as it did in the service. The fact that replacement parts still on the back would seem to indicate a problem with the design and / or manufacture of this model.
The specifications for this model look good on paper, but it has not

A compressor outstanding!I made a lot of research "for several months" on compressors before I purchased this model! I compared this compressor with almost all compressors at the top and around the price range, and the very long list of top models from .... Ingersoll Rand, Maxus, Rol-Air, RIDGID, Craftsman, Hitachi, Porter-Cable, etc!
But what sold me on the DEWALT D55146, collectively, it has more power, better features and better overall quality of money, especially then none of the other models I looked, and believe me, I looked in a lot of different models!
The DEWALT D55146 200 PSI, 5.2 SCFM @ 90 PSI, which gives me the power to spare and room to grow!
